Veterinary Science and Veterinary Technology Selection

Applications for semester two 2011 are now open. Please click on the relevant link below to apply.

Grades obtained in Year 1 Semester 2 and Year 2 of BVetTech cannot be used in WGPA calculations for future applications into the Veterinary Science programme.

Vet selection process

Recently there was a presentation Veterinary Selection Process. It covered all of the main areas and was full of some very useful information. For your convenience it is available for download below.
  • Download the  Pre-Vet Presentation 2011 (195 KB)
The "GPA Calculation Advice" will give you information on how to calculate your Grade Point Average for Semester One 2010 and also the average gpa you will need over one (4 papers) or two (8 papers) semesters to increase your grade point average up to the recommended 6.5 level.

The “List of Alternative Paper Choices” shows the First Year papers which will be approved as Science and Non-Science for Semester One and Two. It also shows the Second Year papers which are mostly approved to assist you with your choice of Semester One 2011 paper choice. Note on page 3 there is a list of papers which are not approved as suitable for selection. If you are not sure about your choice of papers, please contact us.

Plan B - Other options

If you didn't make it into Veterinary Science or Technology this year, don't worry! Theres a whole range of options still available to you. Recently there was a series of talks describing 4 other avenues you can pursue.
