Much of our research is conducted as part of the cooperative efforts between the equine industries and the university through the Equine Partnership for Excellence (PfX). The PfX is a partnering between the industry, Massey University and the NZ government. Funding from the equine industry for PfX projects is matched by government funding through the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC). Investment in PfX projects is overseen by the Equine Trust which ensures that funds are used appropriately to meet the objectives of the PfX for improving equine research and education.
As well as industry linkages, many of our projects involve collaborations with researchers at other institutions throughout New Zealand and overseas. This ensures that expertise from multiple organisations or disciplines can be effectively applied to solving research questions that are of particular relevance to the equine industry.
