In 2012 the Centre established a Strategic Advisory Board to provide our partners and other agencies and businesses the opportunity to provide advice on our academic offerings. This partnership is to ensure that our courses and research meet the needs of our students and of those agencies involved in national defence and security. The Strategic Advisory Board also provides insights and feedback that enable us to ensure that our curriculum and qualifications produce highly qualified graduates who leave the Centre and Massey equipped to pursue careers in which they can make meaningful and rewarding contributions to advancing human security at the local, national, regional, and global levels.
The board is made up of Massey University representatives, chief executives from partner agencies, a variety of government agencies and representatives from the corporate sector. In 2017, the scope of the Strategic Advisory Board is being extended to include input from non-governmental representatives as well.
The current Chair of the Board is Carolyn Tremain, the Comptroller of the NZ Customs Service.
