Overview
The Institute of Natural Sciences (INS) is one of nine Institutes that form the College of Sciences at Massey University. The areas of natural sciences that are covered by research and teaching within the Institute include: physics, chemistry, biology and ecology.
The staff of the Institute have a wide range of expertise.

- our courses include B.Sc (Biological Sciences), BVSc (pre-selection semester) and the proposed B.Nat.Sci.

- the diverse expertise of our staff is regularly harnessed by private companies or Government agencies (both national & international) via consultancy agreements

Synergy with New Zealand Institute for Advanced Study (NZIAS)
The INS and the NZIAS have a close and mutually supportive relationship. The integrative biology and natural sciences theme of the INS is consistent with the inter-disciplinary approach which is the cornerstone of the NZIAS.
