Institute of Natural Sciences
Institute of Natural Sciences is based at the Albany Campus of Massey University on the North Shore of Auckland City.
The vision of the Institute is to be the highest quality provider of natural sciences research and teaching in the Auckland region. The mission of the Institute is to provide research-led education in biology, chemistry and physics.
Distinguishing features of INS include:
- a distinctive new degree in natural sciences designed to break down conventional boundaries not only within the sciences, but also outside the traditional boundaries of science and provide students with an exceptional wide range of career opportunities.
- an undergraduate biological sciences programme that emphasises integrative or systems biology and includes marine biology
- a 4-year intercalated masters programmes for academically-capable students
- high quality more personalised education for students than other universities
- higher postgraduate to undergraduate student ratios than other universities
- world-leading research in integrative biology, theoretical sciences and environmental chemistry and physics
