Postgraduate Programmes

   Postgraduate Handbook

The courses of study offered by the School of Accountancy at the graduate level are aimed at preparing a more independent and inquiring mind. Through their course work, students are encouraged to conduct systematic inquiry into specific issues and discover new information or relationships and/or expand or verify existing knowledge for some identified purpose.

The School of Accountancy offers graduate programmes at Postgraduate Diploma and Masters levels, leading to:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)
  • Master of Philosophy (MPhil)
  • Master of Business Studies (MBS)
  • Master of Business Studies (Accountancy)
  • Master of Management (MMgt)
  • Master of Management (Accountancy)
  • Postgraduate Diploma of Accountancy (PGDipAcc)
  • Bachelor of Business Studies with Honours (BBS(Hons))
  • Bachelor of Business Studies with Honours (Accountancy)
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Business and Administration (Business Law)

Admissions

All students intending to enrol in a Postgraduate programme of study must apply for Admission.

New Zealand Domestic and Permanent Resident students should complete the 'Admission with Equivalent Status' (AES) form located at: http://enrol.massey.ac.nz

International Students should contact the International Students Office in the first instance (email: international@massey.ac.nz). Required documentation can be found at: http://international.massey.ac.nz

Information on Postgraduate Programmes offered by the College of Business can be found at: http://business.massey.ac.nz

Student Membership in the American Accounting Association

Information about student membership in the AAA and an online student membership application can be found online at http://aaahq.org/membership/student_member.htm. If you have any questions about student membership, please feel free to contact Deirdre Harris at membership@aaahq.org or 941-921-7747, ext. 319.

PhD Applications

For information about Doctoral Studies at Massey University, please refer to http://grs.massey.ac.nz.

New Zealand Domestic and Permanent Resident initial applications for admission to the PhD programme in Accounting should be made to the School with a proposed plan of research. The School will forward the successful applications to the Doctoral Research Committee to be considered for provisional registration. All candidates are initially admitted to the programme on a provisional basis at least for the first twelve months.

International Students seeking admission to the PhD programme in Accounting must, in the first instance, contact the International Students Office.
