The research seminars are for staff members of the School and visitors to present their current research and in this way share their ideas with, and receive feedback from the academic community as well as the wider public, including professionals. Everybody is welcome. Papers are available at the venue or from the website in PDF format or from Inez Goldsworthy (Palmerston North), Natalie Snyders (Albany) and Nikki Batten (Wellington).
In general, seminars are held on Wednesday from 12:00pm to 2:00pm (although we may be able to accommodate seminar presentations at other times). Subject to availability of a suitable time slot, the School will contribute towards travel costs and accommodation (where appropriate) for visitors from outside Palmerston North or Auckland.
The School of Accountancy's Seminar Series provides a valuable forum for researchers to share their research ideas, findings and policy recommendations in a variety of areas of accounting and business law. By providing an informal atmosphere that allows for active discussion, the seminar series is designed to benefit not only the presenters but also the participants. In addition, for members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand, attendance at the Seminar Series qualifies as Structured Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
