- Dr Mary Paul edits a new collection of autobiographical writings by celebrated New Zealand author Robin Hyde and reveals a kindlier chapter in the history of this country’s mental health treatment, in the book Your Unselfish Kindness (Otago University Press). (May 2012)
- Johanna Aitchison starts as Massey University's writer in residence on April 29th 2012, and she's using the 12 weeks to finish work for her new book Thank You for Not Touching. She'll read excerpts from this at the Writers Read 2012 Series at Palmerston North City Library on April 27. (April 2012)
- Matt Harris, Phd, Albany campus tutor, and screen writer has a short film '43.000 Feet' accepted for the Tribeca Film Festival, New York.
- Creative Processes Distance Learners from New Zealand wide flocked to their contact course involving a journey of creative writing, drama, music, film and dance performances.The paper led by Associate Professor Angie Farrow, and supported by practicing artists from many disciplines including Artist in Residence and Summer Shakespeare Director Amanda McRaven, teaches students to investigate human creativity by involving the study of creative practice and the making of original works.
