Expertise
Jack teaches Creative Writing (Poetry and Fiction), Life Writing, Travel Writing, and New Zealand Literature. His research interests include contemporary New Zealand poetry, as well as traditional and popular forms of fiction (from the 1001 Nights to contemporary Fantasy and SF). His publications include three poetry collections: City of Strange Brunettes (1998), Chantal's Book (2002) and To Terezín (2007), and six works of fiction. He has also edited numerous books of fiction and poetry, including the best-selling trilogy of audio / text anthologies Classic, Contemporary and New New Zealand Poets in Performance (AUP, 2006-8).
