The School of Humanities Massey University and Japanese Studies Aotearoa New Zealand ニュージーランド日本研究学会 (JSANZ) cordially invite you to attend the 3rd National Symposium of Tertiary Japanese Language Education in New Zealand 2018
The symposium is held biennially to provide a research exchange and networking platform for academics and future academics involved and interested in Japanese language education and supporting areas at tertiary level in New Zealand. This year we bring distinguished specialists in the very front line of Japanese language education internationally together with New Zealand academics in the field.
‘Front line’ also refers to the unique place New Zealand occupies as a pioneer of Japanese language education in the world. Massey University commends itself to the theme as the first university in New Zealand to offer courses in Japanese language. With New Zealand’s long and strong history of Japanese language education, at the symposium we look forward to offering a space for academics to share, disperse and take home new and exciting theories and practices in the discipline.
‘Front line’ also suggests the role undertaken by JSANZ and its various initiatives and projects to combat the recent decline of Japanese language education in New Zealand. JSANZ was launched for this purpose in 2013 and the symposium plays an integral part of its activities.
The 2018 symposium will be held on the Auckland (Albany) campus of Massey University, on Saturday 8 - Sunday 9 December 2018 in the Atrium Round Room (ground floor of the Atrium Building), commencing at 10.00 am Saturday (registration and morning tea) and concluding at 4.00 pm Sunday.
