Undergraduate study

Studying as an undergraduate

If you are studying at university for the first time you will start your study of management through an undergraduate programme. Massey University’s School of Management offers a range of qualifications to suit your interests or business needs.

You can choose either a 3 year (Normally 24 papers) Bachelor degree, or if you have a degree in another subject or suitable prior experience, the Graduate Diploma.

Bachelor Degree

Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS)

A Bachelor of Business Studies is a comprehensive business degree, covering a variety of business disciplines. It takes three years of full-time study to complete but you can also study part time. You can major in any of the following subjects:

  • Business Information Systems
  • Entrepreneurship and Small Business
  • Human Resource Management
  • International Business
  • Management
  • Sport Business Management

Graduate Diplomas

Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (GradDipBusStuds)

This diploma is a way of extending your business knowledge and developing new professional skills. Admission to the programme requires an undergraduate degree, or have a background and experience that will give you exemption from this requirement. Completing the diploma is a shorter course of study than a Bachelor degree, generally taking around a year full-time, or over a longer period as part-time study.
