Dr Joanne Taylor

Senior Lecturer

School of Psychology

My primary research programme focuses on driving anxiety, although I have expanded this programme to explore the problem amongst older adults, research other areas of driving behaviour (e.g., driving anger; psychometric measures), and publish from team and student research. This research programme has facilitated detailed knowledge of the nature, characteristics, and severity of driving anxiety. Most recently, it has advanced the first understandings of prevalence, demonstrating driving anxiety as a potentially common problem. This body of work has expanded awareness that driving anxiety is a complex phenomenon that is not confined to the post-motor vehicle accident experience.
