Professional Psychology and Applied Research Cluster

Staff and students within the professional programmes are currently engaged in a wide range of research activities within a variety of organisational settings. This includes research in a number of sectors, industries and organisational settings.

This cluster has three primary goals. First, it will advance the integration of research and teaching, particularly as it relates to the practice of professional psychology within the School, with the aim of establishing Massey as NZ’s primary provider of professional psychology training. Second, members of the cluster will use their professional contacts within and outside the School in order to engage in applied research within a wide variety of organisational settings. Third, the applied nature of teaching and research will support community service through the professional application of our discipline, both by our graduating interns and the profession more broadly.

We recognise the importance of building the strength of our professional programmes from the undergraduate level upwards. The quality of research-based teaching & learning is fundamental to the success of students in professional training programmes and ultimately, therefore, the continued strength of Massey's professional programmes.
