Postgraduate Programmes of Study Available
Graduate Diplomas
Graduate diplomas are designed for students who are entering a new field of study and have completed a prior undergraduate degree. A Graduate diploma allows graduates to gain the equivalent of an undergraduate major without completing a second Bachelors degree and prepares you for postgraduate level. It enables you to pursue further studies within your chosen field either for personal interest or professional advancement.
Our School offers a Graduate Diploma in Arts (GradDipArts), which is available in several subject areas. It normally requires 120 credits of taught papers at 200, 300 and/or 700-level. The GradDipArts is equivalent to one year of full-time study and many students complete it on a part-time basis.
Students interested in Physical Geography have the option of taking the Graduate Diploma in Science (GradDipSc). The GradDipSc is intended mainly for graduates in one area who are seeking to retrain in a specific area of science (such as Physical Geography), or to update their knowledge and skills in such an area. The GradDipSci takes one year of full-time study, or the equivalent by part-time study.
To qualify for the GradDipSc you must pass enough papers to gain at least 120 credits at 200-level or above. At least 90 credits must be from papers listed in the Bachelor of Science Schedule or Master of Science Schedule, including at least 60 credits at 300-level or above.
Always consult the University Calendar for degree regulations.
