Fox Glacier Tragedy
Dr Martin Brook was on the spot during the recent tragedy at Fox Glacier. He and other Massey staff were teaching a class of 3rd year students (145.303) techniques in Glaciology and Alpine Geomorphology when the ice fall occurred. Dr Brook was interviewed by TV3 News and commented on the danger of ice falls at the terminal face and how Fox Glacier could be made safer for tourists.
2008 Running Hot Conference
The Running Hot Conference held in Wellington during October 29th - 31st 2008 was well attended by several academics from across the disciplines within the School of People, Environment and Planning. The conference theme was 'Interconnections: NZ Science in the 21st Century'.
The conference is reviewed by Bete Flager and features a special interview with our Head of School Dr. Henry Barnard.
