Students who successfully complete this course should be able to:

  1. Critically analyse how the peoples of the South Pacific participate in the contemporary globalized world.
  2. Demonstrate an advanced understanding of key anthropological debates about the peoples and cultures of the South Pacific.
  3. Evaluate findings and debates on cultural continuity and change in anthropology.
  4. Critique representations of Pacific Islanders in anthropology and popular culture.
