Distance learning events and news
Workshops, open days, and other events
- Studying by distance is a big commitment, and one you’re often juggling with family, work, and the rest of your life demands. To keep staying on track, it is essential that we have some ideas about where we are heading at each step along the way. Check out the latest Staying on Track events.
- Free regional seminars are designed to help extramural students develop research and writing skills. Learning consultants will discuss strategies for searching for and evaluating information, and will work through the process of moving from information gathering to a completed assignment.
- Each of the main campuses (Albany, Manawatu and Wellington) run On-campus Days for distance students. The programme is specifically designed for you and provides you with an opportunity to learn about Massey University and meet fellow students. All distance students are welcome to attend these days. See Orientation programmes for dates and venues.
- On-campus workshops help distance students study effectively, and develop assignment writing skills, reading skills, referencing skills, and exam skills. For further information see workshops and seminars.
- Massey University hosts many open days, education fairs and other events during the year, offering current and future students the chance to speak with our Liaison Advisers.
Other events relevant to distance students can also be found on the Events web pages by selecting Extramural from the Campus drop-down list and clicking Search events.
