Orientation
Orientation is essential for both new and returning students as it allows you to familiarise yourself with all of the services and resources available to help you with your studies.
Massey University offers distance students both on-campus and online orientation programmes.
On-campus days
Each of the main campuses (Albany, Manawatu and Wellington) run on-campus days for distance students. The programme is specifically designed for you and provides you with an opportunity to learn about Massey University and meet fellow students. All distance students are welcome to attend these days. Online distance learner orientation
The Distance Learner Orientation Programme is designed as an online resource for all distance students. It is an interactive programme that provides you with information and links to resources that you will need throughout the semester.
At the beginning of the semester there will be information about how to get started with study and time management tutorials, as well as an overview of services that are available to you. As the semester progresses, new content will be added such as hints and tips for assignments and later in the semester information about exams.
There are also a number of discussion forums available to you to interact with both staff and students. We encourage you to use these forums to ask questions as well as help other students with their questions.
Once your enrolment is confirmed you can access the programme by logging into Stream using your student ID and PIN and clicking on the "Distance Learner Orientation" link.
