Ko tenei whakaakoranga reo Maori hei mahinga ma te tauira kua timata ke ki te ako i te reo Maori. Ko tona tino kaupapa, ka whakamahia te reo hei reo whakawhitiwhiti whakaaro, hei reo korerorero i waenganui i te tangata. This course extends listening, speaking and writing competency to enable students to express themselves in Te Reo on a wide range of topics at an introductory level. Emphasis is on spoken and written Maori as a language of communication and interaction.
Note(s): Welcome to Te Reo @ Massey! We really want you to succeed in your studies, so when you’re thinking about enrolling in our 100-level (first year) courses please take note of our entry recommendations. If you have no prior experience with Te Reo Maori, you will need to complete 300.110 before you enrol in this course. If you have NCEA Level 3 Te Reo Maori OR equivalent experience OR you are enrolled in Massey’s Te Aho Tatairangi or Maori Visual Arts programme this is the course for you. If you consider yourself a native speaker of Te Reo Maori, please contact the course coordinator as you may be cleared to enrol in any of our advanced 200 or 300 Level (2nd and 3rd year) courses. However, if you are one of these lucky students, you won’t be able to complete Massey’s minor in Te Reo Maori
