Find out more about the Master of Education parent structure
Current demographic trends indicate that Māori children will have an increased presence in the nation’s classrooms. The development of Māori education perspectives add a point of difference for Aotearoa New Zealand that is only just beginning to be understood.
Research on Māori education is still in the early stages of development so your master’s degree will give you the opportunity to make an original contribution to this exciting field. You’ll learn to critically evaluate relevant theory and research about Māori education, and design and conduct educational research using appropriate paradigms and methodologies.
Massey is ranked in the world’s top 150 universities for education in the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ranking.
Please note that the Master of Education does not qualify you to be a teacher in New Zealand. If you want to be a teacher, you will also need to take a postgraduate teaching qualification. Please explore your options in our education pathways tool.
