Entry requirements

The 2018 regulations for this programme are subject to CUAP approvalĀ 

Admission to the Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Science requires you to have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science, or an equivalent qualification.

Planning your programme

You will follow a flexible course of study, which shall consist of courses totalling at least 120 credits of courses at 700-level or above and may include attending field trips, studios, workshops, tutorials, and laboratories as required.

Endorsements

The Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Science may be completed with an endorsement identifying the veterinary field in which you undertook study for the diploma, or without an endorsement.

The endorsements available are: Veterinary Epidemiology, Veterinary Medicine, and Veterinary Public Health.

Note: The Veterinary Medicine endorsement is not available to international students requiring a study visa to study onshore in New Zealand.

Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Science structure

You will follow a flexible course of study, which shall consist of courses totalling at least 120 credits of courses at 700-level or above from the Schedule.

Time limits for completion for eligibility for Distinction or Merit

Your 120 credit postgraduate diploma will carry the award of Distinction, if completed at a superior standard (equivalent to First Class Honours), or Merit (equivalent to Second Class Honours, Division One) if completed within one year of first enrolling in full-time study or within three years of first enrolling in part-time study.

Maximum time to completion

All requirements must be completed within four years of first enrolling in the Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Science.

These regulations should be read in conjunction with all other Statutes and Regulations of the University including the General Regulations for Undergraduate Degrees, Undergraduate Diplomas, Undergraduate Certificates, Graduate Diplomas and Graduate Certificates
