Entry requirements

Eligibility

Bachelor of Communication (or close equivalent) with a major in the same discipline as that to be undertaken for the BC(Hons). Students are expected to have at least a B grade average in their 300-level majoring courses and a minimum of a B grade for 15 credits at 300-level in the intended secondary subject.

Duration

The BC(Hons) degree is normally a one year full-time course, but may be completed over two or three years on a part-time basis.

Bachelor of Communication (Honours) structure

Courses selected from those listed on the programme schedule to the value of 120 credits consisting of an approved 30 credit research methods course, either 60 credits in a primary subject area (Expressive Arts, Linguistics or Media Studies) and 30 credits in a secondary subject area (Communication Management, Journalism Studies, Marketing Communication or Public Relations) or 60 credits in a primary subject area (Communication Management, Journalism Studies, Marketing Communication or Public Relations) and 30 credits in a secondary subject area (Expressive Arts, Linguistics or Media Studies).

These regulations should be read in conjunction with all other Statutes and Regulations of the University including the General Regulations for Postgraduate Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas and Postgraduate Certificates


How much will it cost?

There will also be compulsory non-tuition fees you have to pay in addition to your tuition fees. For some courses there may be other charges for things such as study resources, software, trips and contact workshops.
