Te Waka o Ngā ākonga Māori (Māori Student Association)

Auckland (Albany) student association

Nō reira, kia kaha, kia māia, kia manawanui i roto i a koutou mahi akaoko katoa.

Te Waka O Ngā ākonga Māori Inc. is the Māori Students’ Association at the Albany Campus of Massey University and was established in 1995 to provide a support base for Māori students. As at most universities, the majority of Māori students at Albany come from iwi (tribal areas) outside Tāmaki Makaurau.

As a part of our commitment to Māori, Te Waka o ngā ākonga Māori seeks to provide for the various academic, cultural and social needs of our students, including such things as academic advice, guidance, advocacy, tutorial support and assistance, financial advocacy and scholarship advice, establishment and support of study groups, access to study and common areas, local, regional and national representation, opportunities for social, sporting, and cultural activities — kapa haka, te reo classes, on-campus sports, monthly social events, and monthly hui.

All Māori students are welcome to use these resources — it’s a good place to meet with other Māori students.

Nāu mai, haere mai.
