The first inaugural event was held in 2009 as an event to mark Te Wiki o Te Reo Maori, Māori Language week at the University. Ngā Kupu Ora is the name of the University’s library collection of Māori resources and translates as the, “living words”.
The aim of the event is to inspire excellence in Māori authorship and publishing.
