Analysis Workshops and Training courses
Massey University currently does not have any training or workshops scheduled – but watch this space for 2011 courses
Level 2 Sequence Analysis Courses
These are currently in preparation and we plan to run these in 2011.
Topics are likely to be:
- Databases for Illumina Sequencing Projects
- Transcriptomics
- Small RNA analysis
- De novo Sequencing (level 2)
Previous Workshops:
In July and November 2010 – “Level 1: Illumina Sequence Analysis for Molecular Biologists” workshops were run at Massey University
This workshop was designed for the molecular biologist who wishing to perform basic analysis on small sets of data (i.e. a few lanes of sequences). The course took the participants slowly through a typical receipt of sequence data from the Massey Genome Service onto basic mapping to a reference genome, then introductory assembly into contigs. Knowledge of command line processing, linux OS and sequence software operation was also taught during the course. By the end of the course participants were trained to map, assemble and view their mapped and assembled data. These workshops were very successful and thanks to all that made it such a success!
