Professor Mason Durie

Māori have contributed to the world of business in many ways as individuals, marae/hapu/iwi, public and private corporations and trusts. The primary focus of Te Au Rangahau is to explore options for new approaches to business that will reflect Māori aspirations, contribute to Māori development, and maintain commercial viability. The Centre is directed by Dr Annemarie Gillies and the key researchers include Māori staff who are currently lecturing in the College of Business. The are committed to making a difference to Māori.
William Whale
Chair, Rānana, Māori Committee
The expertise and skills of Te Au Rangahau members is vast and invaluable. As guardians of our marae and local environs, the Rānana, Māori Committee appreciates the resourcing that research projects with Te Au Rangahau can bring to our isolated community (through capacity building and capital development), and the contribution towards hapū development will no doubt bring several benefits for generations to come.
Dr Farah Palmer
Hui Taumata (2005) highlighted that the growing Māori economy offers New Zealand businesses numerous opportunities and Te Au Rangahau aims to acknowledge and contribute further to this expanding industry through research. In addition, Te Au Rangahau aims to provide leadership and networking opportunities necessary to advance business knowledge that will benefit both Māori and New Zealand society in general.
