A meaningful life: Being a young New Zealand entrepreneur
Kate explored the meaning that young entrepreneurs attach to being in business. Her research found that the relationship between entrepreneur and firm was characterised by a strong attachment grounded in emotion, and that there was high potential for business start-up to be a transformative process for young entrepreneurs. . An ethical imperative was a strong driver of behaviour, as was a desire for personal authenticity in relation to work. The identity of entrepreneur was viewed positively by young entrepreneurs and embraced as best embodying the scope of their endeavours.
