Checkouts, Renewals, Requests, Fines


When logged in to MyLibrary you can see the list of items you have currently on loan, under Checkouts.  Check the status of each item to see when they are due, if there are any recalls, and if you have renewed them. See the Borrowing, Returns, Renewals and Recalls page for more detail on recalls.


How to Renew Your items using MyLibrary
  • Log in to MyLibrary
  • The items you have currently Checked Out (on loan) will be listed (if not, click the link Checkouts)
    (a) To renew specific items: Mark the tick box beside the appropriate title(s), and click on Renew Selected.
    (b) To renew all your loans: Click on Renew All.
  • The system will determine whether the item may be renewed.
    (a) If the renewal is successful, the item will be marked Renewed in the Status box, and a Now Due date will be provided.
    (b) If the renewal is unsuccessful, you will be prompted by a message.

How to Request a Single Item

Items that may be requested will display a Request it icon in the Library Catalogue, or a Request this button in Discover.

  • Search the Catalogue or Discover for an item that you want.
    If the item is not held by Massey click on the BONUS+ icon to see if the item is available from an Australian library.  More BONUS+ information
  • Select the Request it option
  • Log in to MyLibrary (if you have not already done so).
  • Select a Deadline date (this is optional). If your item cannot be supplied your hold will be automatically cancelled on this date.
  • Click Submit
How to Request Multiple Items

Add the items you wish to request to My BookCart, using the basket icon. More information on carts.

Once you have added the items to your cart:

  • Click on My Book Cart
  • Use the checkboxes to select which items in your cart you wish to request
  • Click on Request it.  If you have not already logged in, you will be prompted to do so.
  • Select a Deadline date (this is optional). If your items cannot be supplied your requests will be automatically cancelled on this date.
  • Click on Submit.
    A pop-up box will confirm your requests have been placed. The cart will now show these as requested.
