Browse Electronic Journals by Publisher
The Library buys many journals in 'packages' from particular journal publishers. Search our Article Databases list to find e-journal publishers. Please note: We may not subscribe to every title in a publisher's collection.
Journal Directories and Abbreviation Guides
Ulrichs Global Serials Directory
Provides publishing, subscription and other information about journals.
MLA Directory of Periodicals
Provides information on over 7,100 journals, including editorial contact information and submission guidelines.
The Serials Directory
Provides up-to-date information for over 184,000 U.S. and international serials titles, including newspapers.
CUFTS Journal Search
Search by journal title or ISSN to find out which electronic collections include a journal, and what coverage dates are available.
Many journal titles are abbreviated in common usage. In order to track down the exact journal you want, you may need to look up the abbreviation to find out the full title of the journal (e.g. Journal of Veterinary Diagnostic Investigation is often abbreviated to J. vet. diagn. invest.).
- Google is often the best way to track down a journal abbreviation.
- Abbreviations.com provides a list of journal title abbreviations arranged by subject.
- The Library has other useful journal abbreviations resources, so if you are unsuccessful with Google and Abbreviations.com, please contact us.
Guidelines for Submitting to Journals
If you wish to publish your article in a journal you may need to know about that journal's submission guidelines, writing style requirements, formatting requirements and other information. The journal's web site is the best place to look for such information - use Google to search for the name of the journal and connect to the web site.
Further Information
Liaison librarians can provide information and assistance on any of the above matters. Please contact us at any time. We are happy to organise one-on-one or group sessions for college staff.
