Parking Fees - Staff

Cars

If you would like to travel to Massey by motor vehicle then there are several parking options available.

  • Casual Paid Parking
  • Reserved Carparks
  • Metered General Parking

Metered Parking

Metered parks are available all around the campus at a cost of $1.00 per hour of parking, with the exception of the Library which is $2.00 per hour.

Casual Parking

Staff can park on a 'Ticket to Exit' basis in the Orchard Road or Burke Road carparks at Turitea and Main Road park at Hokowhitu at a cost of $2 per day of parking.

Reserved Carparks

Staff can apply for a park in reserved carparks at the following locations:

 

Hokowhitu

Turitea

Awanui

Fairway

Kanuka

Kura Awa

Mataamua

Te Ara

Business Studies/Refectory

Business Studies/Numbered

Commercial Complex

Creche/Maori Studies

Creche/Numbered

Ecology

Maori Studies/Numbered

Printery

Refectory/Numbered

 

The parks within these carparks fall into two categories:

  • Numbered slots means that your space is guaranteed and available 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday
  • Hunting slots means that you 'hunt' for an unnumbered space available in the carpark and if no space is available you must park in one of the General parks (Orchard Road or Burke Road carparks at Turitea and Main Road park at Hokowhitu). Your card will allow you to exit these parks.

The following carparking costs are effective from 1 January 2008:

  • Numbered Parking $414.00 plus GST ($466.00) per annum or $17.92 fortnightly via automatic payment from salary.
  • Reserved Parking Hunt Licence $316.45 plus GST ($356.00) per annum or $13.69 fortnightly via automatic payment from salary.
  • General Parking Hunt Licence (Orchard and Bourke Roads carparks at Turitea and Main Park Hokowhitu) $264.12 plus GST ($297.00) per annum or by $11.42 fortnightly via automatic payment from salary.

Only salaried staff may pay by automatic payment.

Motorbikes

There is no charge to park motorcycles at Massey. But they are required to be parked in any of the motorcycle parks situated on University Avenue; motorcycles are not permitted to park inside University Avenue.

Bicycles

There is no charge to park bicycles at Massey. They should be parked in any of the six major bicycle parks. There are also several smaller bike parks with stands.

The major bicycle stands are:

  • Beside the Library
  • Business Studies West (next to the hitchhiking bay, veer to the left of the ring road just inside the main gate)
  • Commercial Complex
  • Social Sciences Tower
  • Riddet Road
  • Adjacent to the Lake and Science Tower D
