Parking Fees - Students

Residential Students

If you are living in a Massey Hall of Residence you may apply for a carpark through Campus Living. You will be allocated a 'hunting licence' for a carpark within the vicinity of your Hall of Residence at no additional cost. If this carpark is full you must park in the Orchard Road or Bourke Road carparks.

Non-residential Students

If you would like to travel to Massey by motor vehicle then there are several parking options available.

  • Casual Paid Parking
  • Reserved Carparks
  • Metered General Parking

Metered Parking

Metered parks are available all around the campus at a cost of $1.00 per hour of parking, with the exception of the Library which is $2.00 per hourCasual Parking.

Students can park on a 'Ticket to Exit' basis in the Orchard Road or Burke Road carparks at Turitea and Main Road park at Hokowhitu at a cost of $2 per day of parking.

Prepay cards can be purchased for access to these carparks at a cost of:

  • 1 x Semester $108
  • 2 x Semester $206
  • 3 x Semester $297
  • plus $20 card deposit (refundable on return)

Reserved Carparks

Students can apply for a park in reserved carparks at the following locations, but should be aware that most areas have extensive waiting lists.

Kura Awa

Mataamua

Te Ara

Business Studies/Refectory

Business Studies/Numbered

Commercial Complex

Creche/Maori Studies

Creche/Numbered

Motorcycles

There is no charge to park motorcycles at Massey. But they are required to be parked in any of the motorcycle parks situated on University Avenue; motorcycles are not permitted to park inside University Avenue.

Bicycles

There is no charge to park bicycles at Massey. They should be parked in any of the six major bicycle parks. There are also several smaller bike parks with stands.

The major bicycle stands are:

  • Behind the Library
  • Business Studies West (next to the hitchhiking bay, veer to the left of the ring road just inside the main gate)
  • Commercial Complex
  • Social Sciences Tower
  • Riddet Road
  • Adjacent to the Lake and Science Tower D
