Manawatu Regional Health and Safety
The role of the Manawatu Regional Health and Safety office is to help to ensure, as far as practicable, the safety and well-being of staff, students and visitors to the Manawatu campuses of Massey University. This Regional office has an operational focus.An appoinment is pending for the Manawatu Campus Health and Safety Advisor.
The Campus Health and Safety Advisor undertakes the following:

Facilitates health and safety compliance for the Manawatu region by:
- Ensuring coordination of health and safety committees
- Providing technical reports
- Investigating accidents
- Arranging training courses
- Assisting with hazard management
- Advises and assists with writing and implementation of health and safety policies and procedures
- Advises on compliance with the Health and Safety legislation, Hazardous Substances and New Organisms legislation and other associated health and safety legislation.
- Liaises with external agencies such as the Department of Labour, National Radiation Laboratory, Horizons Manawatu and Palmerston North City Council.
- Communicates health and safety information within the Manawatu Region through health and safety committees, email discussion group and newsletters.
