Instructions for Massey Staff and Students when visiting other institutions

Access to eduroam is made via the eduroam network. Instructions for connecting to eduroam are identical to the instructions for Massey’s other wireless networks.

  • The name of the network you want to connect to is ‘Eduroam’ or ‘eduroam’.
  • When asked for user credentials you will need to supply your Massey username (e.g jbloggs) or student ID and your password or student PIN.

Other systems (Mac OS, Linux, mobile devices, etc.):

Ensure the field for 'domain' or 'realm' is populated with MASSEY. If no field for 'domain' or 'realm' is available, ensure that you enter username replacing 'username' with your Massey username or student ID.@massey.ac.nz

SECURITY NOTE: It is recommended that you treat remote eduroam networks as 'untrusted', and to make a VPN connection back to Massey's network when possible. It is also recommended that you connect to secure web sites (i.e. sites starting with HTTPS rather than HTTP). Note: This is not available for all web services/sites.
