In order to short list an applicant for interviewing, the qualifications listed in their CV must be relevant to the qualifications required for the vacant position as identified in the positions job description.
If the qualifications certificates have not been provided in the initial application form, then Chair of the Selection Committee should ask the applicant to bring to the interview their qualifications for copying and certifying or alternatively certified copies of their qualifications. The certified qualifications of the preferred applicants should then be included in the appointment summary information that is provided to the HoI/S and PVC/AVC for approval. Note this includes trade and professional body qualifications relevant to position.
Once the preferred applicant has been determined and prior their commencement of employment, a verified copy of the original qualification(s) relevant to the position must be confirmed by a Justice of the Peace, Lawyer, Notary Public or a Massey University People and Organisational Development staff member or hiring manager as a true and accurate copy of the original and means that the original document will need to be sighted by the person providing the verification assurance. In addition, should a trade or professional body qualification be required for the position, these documents will also be required before the check can be deemed completed.
All verified copies of the original qualification(s) should to be provided to People and Organisational Development prior to the commencement of employment (if not already provided at the time of the interview).
