The Universities of New Zealand Voluntary Workplace Insurance Plan

Life and disability insurance is designed to provide financial security for you and your family when you are unable to earn an income through illness, a serious change in health or if you die prematurely. This special plan has been established in conjunction with the Universities of New Zealand to offer you concessions and savings.

The plan provides three options: Life Insurance, Living Assurance and Income Protection Insurance.

Who can join? 

  • All staff with permanent employment or a fixed-term agreement (which has two or more years to run before it expires), who are working a minimum of 15 hours regularly per week and are aged between 16 and 64 are eligible for cover. This includes automatic acceptance for new staff members who enrol within 75 days of commencing employment at Massey, subject to answering the six declaration questions.
