Discretionary Leave

Massey is able to grant additional discretionary leave (with or without pay) to staff on appropriate case by case instances.

Examples of reasons for which discretionary leave may be granted include:

  • Compassionate grounds
  • Time off to manage personal situations, usually involving family, which is not covered by other types of leave
  • Parliamentary candidature

If you need leave in addition to that provided in your employment agreement, it is best to talk with your manager about your situation.
