This section gives details on the leave types available to academic and professional salaried staff. In many instances leave entitlements at Massey are more generous than the minimum legal entitlement and are provided for under the relevant employment agreement and/or relevant policy or procedure.
It is recommended that staff become familiar to the entitlements available, and how to apply for leave. In general terms the leave in this section applies to salaried staff whether they are ongoing or fixed term. Part time staff are entitled to the same leave entitlements as full time staff, except that the leave will be paid on a pro-rata basis in accordance with their full time equivalency (FTE).
MyHR is Massey’s online leave management system. The majority of the leave in this section, with the exclusion of parental, academic and leave without pay are applied for and approved online by your manager or leave manager.
