The theme was chosen by the Vice Chancellor because of the increasing importance of e-Learning to the University and its rapid development nationally and internationally. The programme had a specific focus on Massey University’s engagement and innovation in e-Learning.
The Symposium complemented and supported the adoption of a strategy for Massey which will provide direction and momentum for future and ongoing development and excellence in e-Learning by the University.
The Symposium showcased Massey’s strengths and innovations in the area of e-Learning, explored the implications of e-learning for the University, discussed e-Learning strategy development, highlighted exciting and innovative practice, and provided participants with an opportunity to engage with the ideas and practices that inform the development of e-Learning.
The Symposium featured Massey staff as presenters showcasing Massey expertise and excellence. The emphasis was on engaging Symposium participants with the ideas and processes of e-learning, to encourage uptake, and identify support available for ongoing development of this rapidly advancing dimension of learning and teaching.
The key outcomes of the Symposium programme provided opportunities for staff to participate, learn, and takeaway, practical, successful, and innovative ideas and options for adding an ‘e’ dimension to teaching and learning leading to enhance student outcomes.
