Tips, Tricks and Tools: Designing Interactive Online Scenarios

This workshop works through a series of questions teachers may ask when designing interactive scenario or case-based lessons.  While the focus is on interactive lessons delivered through electronic means many of the principles will also apply to tutorial or face-to-face delivery.

 Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants planning their own interactive scenario or case-based lessons should be able to make sound decisions on:

  • What type of learning is suitable for an interactive scenario or case-based lesson
  • What form such lessons can take
  • How students might be assessed
  • How to prevent student overload
  • How to prevent teacher overload
  • Where in the course these lessons are best placed
  • How can they be delivered
  • The tools available for planning and designing such lessons
