Structure

The Massey Executive MBA programme commences with a three day residential orientation in Palmerston North. Your two years of study are then divided into Part A and Part B.

Part A – eight compulsory papers to be completed in the first year in order to proceed to Part B. Leadership development workshops are integrated throughout this year.

Part B – three compulsory papers, one of which includes an international study tour (total value of 60 credits), two electives (30 credits) from approved MBA papers, and a research project worth 30 credits.

Where can I study?

In 2017 the MBA will be taught in Auckland, Wellington and Palmerston North with the option of other regional centres dependent on at least 20 students being enrolled in that region. We have taught in New Plymouth and Christchurch in the past. If there is no class in the South Island for 2017 there will be a travel subsidy available for those students (conditions apply).

Classes

Auckland and Wellington – classes are held every third weekend in Auckland, on the Auckland campus and in Wellington at the James Cook Hotel.

Palmerston North – our Palmerston North class is held over a long weekend (Friday to Sunday or Monday) every sixth weekend in the first year.

Three times during the first year all classes come together, for Orientation in Palmerston North, for the Leadership Development Weekend in Wellington and for the last class of Part A in Palmerston North. In the second year all regional classes are taught together.
