Arriving - The Cube

Students may arrive at The Cube on Sunday 19 February 2017.

Move in times:

Floors 9,8 and 7 – from 8am to 11:00am

Floors 6, 5 and 4 – from 11:30am to 2pm

Floors 3, 2 and 1 – from 2pm to 5pm

You may arrive after this date, however we encourage you to arrive on time so that you can participate in your first facilitated flat meeting, get to know everyone at our welcome events, and attend orientation sessions.

There is drop off/unloading available in The Cube's parking garage for residents and their baggage. However, with the majority of the residents moving in on a single day it is extremely important to avoid leaving cars unattended, even for a short amount of time. The single lane that flows through The Cube's parking garage gets congested very quickly. The Cube garage is accessible from a driveway, the first left on Hopper St. Some on-street parking is available on Hopper St, free for up to two hours on Sundays.

Parents' Session

  • There will be a parenting session held for each of the move-in times above on Sunday 19 February 2017
  • This session aims at informing parents of what to expect and how to help their sons/daughters with transition from school to University issues.
  • It is a good opportunity for parents to learn and ask questions about orientation to student life.
  • The times for this session will be announced later, when students are informed of their room numbers.

Arriving - 222 Willis

Residents may arrive at 222 on Saturday 18 February 2017. We encourage you to arrive on day so that you can participate in your first facilitated flat meeting, get to know everyone at our welcome events, and attend orientation sessions.

There is a drop off/unloading zone available in 222’s carpark, and a large carpark across the road for residents and their baggage.

Parents' Session

  • There will be a ‘Parenting at a Distance’ information session held on Saturday 18 February 2017
  • This session aims at informing parents of what to expect and how to help their children with transition from school to University issues.
  • It is a good opportunity for parents to learn and ask questions about orientation to student life.
  • The times for this session will be announced closer to Arrival Day.

Departing - The Cube

Students must have checked out of The Cube by the end of their Residential Agreement. For students who are staying for the full 2017 academic year, this will be Saturday 9 December 2017. Information regarding this process will be provided to students as they near the end of their Residential Agreement. Students who leave prior to their Residential Agreement end date must still continue to pay rent until the end of their tenancy.

Early Release of Residential Agreement

The Residential Agreement is a legally binding tenancy agreement. However, if you are withdrawing from the University, have financial hardship, medical or counselling reasons, or compassionate grounds, you may be able to apply for an Early Release of Residential Agreement prior to the end of your tenancy date. Please note that an Early Release of Residential Agreement will only be approved in certain circumstances, is at the discretion of the Student Life Services Manager, there are fees involved, and in most cases you will need to pay until the end of the current semester. For more information, please contact us.
