Wellington academic dress hire

Academic dress can be hired from academic dress hire. You can either complete an online order form or print one out, depending on how you are paying for dress hire.

Collecting your academic dress

  • Academic dress hire will be located in the Boardroom, Museum Building, Massey University, Buckle Street, Wellington. Ten-minute parking will be available at the front of the Museum Building.
  • It is helpful but not essential to bring the 'acknowledgement slip' of your order, sent to you by academic dress hire, with you when you pick up your robes. A friend may pick up your robes on your behalf, if they present your 'acknowledgement' slip. However, this will not allow the opportunity for us to fit your hat correctly.

Academic dress returns

  • Same day return: Ground floor, Michael Fowler Centre. 5:30pm closing.
  • After Graduation day, all academic dress returns must be returned to Murphy Building, Room 109, Victoria University, Kelburn Parade, Wellington on Wednesday following graduation from 10am-2pm or see www.masseygowns.org.nz

You can not return academic dress items to the Boardroom, Museum Building, Massey University.

  • Failure to return items hired in good condition by the return-by-date will mean forfeiting your bond. You will also be invoiced for the value of any items not returned and liable for debt collection costs should the invoice remain unpaid after 30 days.
