Welcome to Recreation at Massey University Wellington

Our goal is to meet the needs and desires of Wellington students, so our services change and evolve over time. The following provides an overview of our current services.

BPM Fitness - GYM.jpg

BPM Fitness is Wellington campuses very own gym. Located at Gate C, it’s accessible to all students. The gym provides a range of health and fitness services, as well as cardio and strength training equipment.

There is a friendly and professional team who want to help you reach your goals. The gym memberships are very affordable, and there are even better Massey student discounts if you ask at reception. Each membership comes with a programme designed for you, based on your goals and current fitness levels.

You can find out more about the gym at www.bpmfitness.co.nz. The gym is located in Building T32.

Open hours: Monday to Friday 6:00am-9:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 9:00am-6:00pm, closed public holidays. Also check out the Facebook group, to get an idea of our community.

Social sports leagues.jpg Each semester the staff at BPM Fitness organise an indoor social sports league. Netball and soccer run during semester, with teams playing other students, staff and the occasional other university.

Most teams play for fun, others play for the coveted sports leagues shield.

For more information and contact details: www.bpmfitness.co.nz

Group fitness.jpg BPM Fitness also coordinates a selection of group fitness classes. The classes change from semester to semester based on current interest levels and instructor availability.

Classes are set at an introductory level, so everyone can come and have a go without needing experience. The classes are affordable, the instructors friendly, and it’s always more enjoyable when you bring a friend.

Recreation centre.jpg

On the Tasman Street side of Wellington campus, there is an indoor basketball court. Its available for casual use by students 9:00am-5:00pm. Bookings can be made at BPM Fitness for outside of these hours, and rates start at $35.00 an hour for one off visits, and cheaper for regular bookings.

From time to time, the recreation centre is booked out during the day for research, teaching, or external bookings. During this time, those bookings take priority.
