Chaplaincy Wellington

What's Happening

Exploring Faith Questions

We are people in an environment where critical thought and questioning are the norm, and there’s no reason that Faith issues should be any different. If you’ve got questions you’re grappling with, come and share them with a Chaplain - we may not have all the answers, but are more than happy to look with you.

Social Life on Campus

A healthy social life and connection with others are vital elements of a good university experience - it’s not all sex, drugs and rock and roll. The Chaplains work closely with the Students' Association MAWSA, Health Centre and other Student Services staff to ensure that events on Campus encourage safe and enjoyable social environments. So if you’ve got any ideas for an event or program, let us know!

Free Soup and Bread

That's right, free soup and bread during the winter months (July and August). Posters will be posted around the campus or watch this space for more information.

Celebrating Life

New Zealand has a fairly strong culture of Tall Poppy Syndrome, which can make it hard to know when we are supposed to celebrate our achievements without coming across as arrogant. A key part of Chaplaincy is opening up Life itself as the focus of celebration, so we mark some of those special events during the academic year:

Graduation

Finishing your studies is a big deal, and it’s great to be able to mark that step with a faith community. Contact us closer to the time of Graduation for details.

Praying Together

It can be really hard to find time or space to pray when you’re on Campus. While there are a number of Churches around that are open during the day, it’s good to have access to prayer time on Campus. Feel free to join in a group, or, if you’d like to start your own, please contact Rey

Services and Celebrations

There are many Churches around Wellington to connect with. But if you’re looking for something particular of Campus for special events, get in contact with a Chaplain, and we can set something up.

Mass

If you're after Mass in the Campus setting please contact Rey.
