Community Services Card

Approximately 80% of students are entitled to a Community Services Card. Qualification criteria depend upon your income, marital status, number of dependents (if any) and whether you are a New Zealand citizen or resident. International students do not qualify for a card.

If you are a student with New Zealand citizenship or residency and you choose not to enrol with the Student Health & Counselling Service, then having a Community Services Card will reduce the cost of a casual consultation when you visit us.

Even if you do enrol with us, having a current Community Services Card will save you money in other ways:

  • For urgent after hour’s consultation with City Doctors in Victoria Avenue, a Community Services Card will reduce your cost of consultation.
  • Any consultation with a doctor outside of this practice will be cheaper if you have a current Community Services Card.
  • Any medication prescribed by a doctor outside of the Massey University Student Health & Counselling Service will attract higher prescription charges per item for those without a card. With a card the minimum cost per item.

We urge you to apply now for a Community Services Card, application forms are available from your local WINZ office or you can download a copy of the Community Services Card application form by going to:
