EARTHQUAKE SUPPORT
The university is very aware that as well as those who have been directly affected by the ongoing earthquakes in Christchurch and the associated uncertainty, many students have been indirectly affected in a variety of ways. Undertaking normal university study under these difficult conditions poses additional challenges for students. After an event to this nature it is entirely normal to experience unexpected physical and emotional reactions even a considerable time afterwards. These reactions are a completely normal response to an abnormal event! For further information please see the Traumatic Incidents brochure.
The University will continue to send support staff to run seminars in Christchurch and to provide additional support to all students who have been affected. Because of the range of different situations, It is important that students contact the University to discuss their needs. The available services are outlined on the website where you can explore the range of supports provided by Massey for Distance students
Additional assistance for yourself or for a friend can be obtained from the campus Health & Counselling Services or any other the other Campus Life Services including the Chaplaincy, where quiet reflective space is available
