Massey University will host this year’s New Zealand Universities Blues Awards.
The New Zealand Universities Blues are awarded to student-athletes who have excelled both academically and in their sport. They have been awarded in New Zealand since 1919. A total of 67 outstanding athletes, including 2012 Olympians, will be honoured at this year’s awards dinner. The full list of Blues recipients in all categories may be viewed below.
Blues recipients must be high achievers both academically and in their sport. As well as achieving international representation at the highest level, they must also pass at least one third of a full-time course in the year of the award.
In addition to the Blues, awards will be given to the Sportsperson of the Year and the Māori Sportsperson of the Year who are judged to have been the “best of the best”.
The dinner, brought to you by University Sport New Zealand in association with Massey University and ASB, will take place on Thursday 6 December at the prestigious Museum Building on Massey University’s Wellington campus.
Pre dinner drinks commence from 5:30 pm, with guests seated from 6:15 pm.
