- Check your enrolled papers are listed and read Stream Guide
- Ensure you have your Student ID card
- Sort finances

- Take note of how paper is set up (what is taught when, what reading(s) is covered, how and where to submit assignments

Know how lecturer(s) prefer(s) to be contacted (phone, email, office hours) and note down contact details

Volunteer as a class rep for one of your classes, or at least know who your class reps are

- Go on a Library tour and/or learn how to use the Library on-line catalogue
- Check what study skills and other study support assistance is available
- Writing your first essay – help is available! Check out OWLL and other support services.

Getting your study plan sorted
- Make a week’s study schedule – record class times first, then allocate time for study (both together should total 10-12.5 hours per week, per paper), include other activities and commitments (work, family etc)
- Make a semester plan/calendar – include all your assessment dates, the mid semester break, exam dates and personal commitments. Not sure how? Have a look at our online tutorial.
