Orientation programmes at Massey University

Orientation is your opportunity to experience what the campus and region have to offer. The programme has been designed to get your study year sorted and off to a happy start, but also to have a lot of fun and meet new people.

Reasons why you should attend:

Programmes are available for:

  • Internal students (NZ citizens and residents)
  • International students
  • Distance students
  • Parents

Internal students

A programme designed for all first year students to come onto campus a week before the semester starts and participate in workshops and activities to help you meet new friends, get your study year sorted and off to a happy start settling into University life.   A Parents programme is also available.

International students

International Students are those students who have a Student Visa to study in New Zealand and include those who are Student Exchange/Study Abroad/NZAID (NZDS), Commonwealth, and Higher Education Commission of Pakistan (HEC) Scholars.  It is compulsory for all new students.

Other foreign students who have New Zealand citizenship should participate in the regular programme with domestic students.

Distance students

An orientation event for distance students, both new undergraduate and postgraduate. Distance students also have access to an Online Orientation course within Stream that contains a number of tutorials and information.  All distance students are automatically enrolled.
