Fort Collins is one of Money magazine’s “Best Places to Live” for a reason. When you’re not on campus, you’ll find all kinds of ways to occupy your time. Hundreds of restaurants cater to a variety of tastes. Old Town has a vibe that few cities can match. With an average of 300 sunny days per year and the network of hiking and biking trails throughout The Fort will take you to natural areas and scenic vistas. Biking around town is also a breeze with an extensive bikeway system.

At CSU you can also choose from more than 500 student organizations.  These include service, academic, professional, religious, and recreational organizations.

Health insurance

Adequate health insurance is required by law for all exchange students going to the USA.  Travel insurance alone will not provide the appropriate coverage.  Health insurance plans in the USA are typically more expensive than plans in New Zealand.

Be sure you check the university’s insurance requirements and enrol in the appropriate plan.

Visas

You will need to have a J-1 exchange visitor visa to enter the U.S. You cannot study full-time at the university on either a B-2 tourist visa or the visa waiver program.
